Three Shapes Of Promotional Rulers That Can Make Your Products Stand Out

by Wade Wheeler

When you think of a ruler, you almost always think of a hard-sided, rectangular device. If you're wanting to have some rulers made up to give away for promotions for your business, you don't necessarily have to go with a conventional shape. While you'll obviously need at least one of the long sides of the ruler to be straight — otherwise, this simple tool won't do its job — you have the flexibility to choose a different shape for other areas of the ruler. There are many promotional products companies that can produce rulers with different shapes, which can really make them stand out. Here are some shapes to consider.

Apple Shape

See if your promotional product company can make up rulers that have an apple shape at one end. The apple must not interfere with one of the ruler's straight edges, but can extend above the opposite edge because ruler users seldom need to use both straight edges at the same time. The presence of an apple shape can definitely make your ruler stand out visually, and can work for a variety of professionals. For example, if you're a nutritionist or dietician, the apple — often used as a symbol of healthy eating — can be applicable.

Vehicle Shape

Sometimes, you'll see promotional rulers that are shaped somewhat like a vehicle such as a transport truck or a bus. For example, the top edge of the ruler will be flat, but there will be a few semi-circles jutting out from the bottom edge of the ruler to represent the wheels of the vehicle. This shape can be applicable for different companies. For example, if you're a trucking company, you might want to get these rulers made up to give out at trade shows. If you're a bus company, these rulers might be good gifts for your younger riders.

Rooftop Shape

Yet another shape option to consider for your promotional rulers is a rooftop shape. For this ruler, the bottom edge will be flat, while the top of the ruler will have a pair of angled sections that look like the peaked silhouette of a residential roof. You may even want to have a small chimney shape sticking out from one side of the top of the roof to further add visual appeal. A promotional ruler of this shape can be suitable for many home-related business professionals, including home inspectors, roofing services, and more.
