Betting on sports has some gray areas on one side of the fence, and white areas on the other side of the fence. More to the point, you can bet on sports, but only if you are betting smaller amounts, and only if you make your bets through the right (and legal) channels. If you make bets along illegal channels, you are at risk for being caught, or for ending up with too much debt because you bet too much and lost. Here is how to make better bets and do it legally.

​Like everything else these days, betting has moved to online sites. Do your research and you will find out which sites are legit and totally legal. Do a little more research to see which site or sites offers some good deals on making bets. Some sites will offer new betting customers free bets for signing up. It might be five, ten, or fifteen bets for free, no charge, and you only pay any money you lose. The amounts you bet are all small enough that you will not get into a lot of hot water, and the legit sites put limits on how much and how often you can bet so that you do not develop major financial issues while having fun betting on your favorite sports.
